This is a template for writing a PhD thesis build upon the LaTeX standalone package. This template is suitable when major contribution chapters are published papers that the author would want to directly integrate. In this template, each chapter can be compiled separately, making it easier to track incremental changes.
**Important**
All chpater-wise tex files must have the following package declarations in the beginning:
\documentclass[float=true, crop=false]{standalone}
\usepackage[subpreambles=false]{standalone}
\usepackage{import}
\usepackage{blindtext}
And, the following conditional inclusion of bibliography in the end of the chapter-wise tex files.
\ifstandalone
% \bibliographystyle{Your_Preferred_Format}
\bibliography{chap1}
\fi
A derivative of the SINTEF template [1] with some customization options and support for OpenType fonts. The colors have been adjusted to adhere to the UIC style guide [2].
As backgrounds, I have provided some photos of our campus, as well as departmental logos for ECE, CS and MSCS departments, who are most likely to use this.
I have simplified the example slides and additionally, have also included a pseudocode example. This template is hosted on GitHub [3] and I welcome your contributions.

PhD thesis template for RMIT.
I did not craft this template from scratch; it was pieced together using various files obtained from former RMIT students. It is intended to save you time in searching for a template free of errors. Best of luck with your thesis!
